Clothes-Making 101: Start Your Slow Fashion Journey

  • Norberry Glenlee Community Centre 26 Molgat Avenue Winnipeg, MB, R2M 1X3 Canada (map)

Leave your machine at home, this class is all about understanding how to start making your own clothes. We'll be covering pattern companies, different fabrics for garments, buying fabric online, matching fabrics to patterns and how to follow a pattern.

Students will leave with a fabric swatch card along with a booklet of all the information provided in the class. There will be samples sewn in different fabrics so students can see in person how fabric selection can affect the end result of your garment.

This class is partly lecture-based, but plenty of opportunity will be given for questions and discussion throughout the class and there will be dedicated time at the end of class for any additional questions.
