WAIT! Take your fabric out of that donation bag!

Instead, re-distribute your fabric to others who will love the opportunity to use it in their sewing practice and put a few dollars in your pocket at the same time. Dust off your unused fabrics, ones that have been sitting for a few months or years, that were never quite the right type or colour, and move them into the Collective instead to be sure they’ll be put to good use and be disposed of with care and accountability.

A few more things…

We’ll pay up to $10/m for your fabrics depending on fiber composition and condition. Very small naturally occurring flaws such as manufacturer defects including small holes that don’t overly affect the usage of the fabric will be accepted, but your fabric may not be accepted for other reasons, such as laundry detergent/fabric softener smells, not enough yardage, or other considerations.

The fabrics you sell us are final sale, but you are always welcome to send us an email to check in to see what happened with your stash. Prices are subject to change without notice.

This system allows us to provide more accessible price points and to provide you some extra cash for fabrics you won’t use! This loop on the new-to-trash pipeline extends the life of the fabric and helps prevent more new garments and fabrics from being purchased.

At this appointment you’ll bring your fabrics and Katherine will assess the fabrics and provide you an amount to be paid. You are under no obligation to sell your fabrics. If you choose to sell your fabrics, we’ll sign a contract and you’ll be sent an etransfer immediately so you have your money in hand as you go home.

Here’s how it works…

What we'll buy:

  • Natural fibres and blends, that means linen, cotton, lyocell, hemp, wool, silk, rayon and viscose

  • Both knits and wovens are accepted

  • Fabrics must be at least 1m uncut or measured to the beginning of the tails

  • Quilting Cotton is accepted

ONLY clean, scent free, excellent condition fabric will be accepted and you must bring in your fabrics in person for an assessment appointment. Please make sure that if you normally use scented laundry detergent that you soak the fabrics in an odor neutralizing solution and dry them prior to coming.

TFC appointments are on hold until further notice. Please check back soon if you’d like to sell your fabrics.
