Sew your spring/fall coat with this satisfying project from Closet Case Patterns. Join all three classes, or just the one with which you need a hand!

These classes are perfect for sewists who are confident choosing their size, cutting their fabric and sewing most seams but would like a hand with the trickier parts of the jacket. Class size is restricted to 4 sewists so that everyone gets plenty of one-on-one time.

Class 1 will focus on marking, pressing and sewing those awesome pockets including how to hack the flap to be an actual closure instead of just a flap. We’ll be setting snaps in this class.

Class 2 will be inserting the zipper and sewing through all those plackets. If we have time we’ll tackle the collar and hood facings as well.

Class 3 will be sewing the sleeves including how to sew the placket for the cuff, tips on getting the cuffs just right and inserting those snaps.

This jacket is best made in cotton twills for the outside. If you are sewing the lined version, then linings such as bemberg, rayon, silk or flannel backed satin. Choose either a thicker lining or outer fabric, but not both.

You can purchase the kit here if you would like.

This class is wheelchair accessible! Please email me if you need an accomodation and I will work it out. Every class happens in Treaty 1 territory, the traditional lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
