Pattern Printing

March 19, 2024 - ON HOLD INDEFINITELY! All orders have been fulfilled and no more will be accepted until my printer is fixed/up and running again.

Combine the beauty of skipping the taping step and the convenience of a PDF pattern, and I’ll meet you right in the middle with a pattern printing service. As a service run by a sewist, I understand that accurate scaling is of utmost importance and every pattern is checked and verified to be to scale.

Anti-racism and cultural appropriation: Winnipeg Sews will no longer be choosing to print patterns with culturally appropriative names such as kimono, haori, amauti and more, unless the pattern designer is of that culture or has been immersed and invested in that culture. If you upload one of these by accident, you’ll just receive an email explaining why we choose not to print them.

All patterns are printed on 36 wide continuous roll paper. A0 files are accepted and will be printed & cut to size. Currently, Winnipeg Sews only prints in black and white.

Cost: $1.25/linear foot of 36 inch wide paper, meaning you can print your continuous roll patterns to the nearest foot. If you have both an A0 and a copyshop file, then usually the copyshop file will be cheapest. You are welcome to upload both and I’ll invoice only for the cheapest one.
A0 pages are $5.00/page.

Want to see how much your pattern will cost?

Open the file in Adobe Reader

  1. Click Control-D

  2. The bottom left hand corner will tell you the size of the file

  3. Round up to the nearest inch

  4. Divide by 12 then round to the next foot.

  5. If the file is 33x46, then that will be one page of 36x48 printing. Each page is 4 feet and you can calculate the total by multiplying the number of pages by 4.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

How to order your pattern: Before you start, please make sure you are on a desktop or laptop, this does not function properly on mobile. Make sure you know where to find all your PDF patterns on your computer.

Fill out the form below and then click on “Submit”, this will bring you to a confirmation page. On the Confirmation page click on the button to upload your pattern to a private dropbox folder. Those files will show up in my folder attached to your name.

How to pay for your printing: I’ll verify how many feet the pattern(s) require and send you an email with a link to payment and how many linear feet to purchase. Please keep an eye on your email for your link to a payment page. Once you get that email, click the hyperlink and then change the number from 1 to your personal number in your email. No pattern(s) will be printed without payment.

Processing time: Usually 2-3 business days after payment has been received.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Pickup: To pickup your pattern, please wait for your fulfillment email then stop by during our open hours.

Shipping across Canada: Shipping is now available for folded patterns via lettermail or parcel. Just select the shipping option below and you’ll receive an email once your order has shipped! Only 5 A0 sheets can fit in an oversized envelope, so please make sure that your patterns will fit prior to choosing that option. If your order is more than 20 linear feet or 5 A0 pages, please select the flat rate $12 shipping option or if your order is over $250CAD before taxes and discounts you qualify for free shipping. Orders will no longer be sent in two batches of lettermail so as to avoid raising prices that will affect all sewists picking up their patterns in person.

You are all such supportive and helpful people and I appreciate it all so much! Thank you for being so excited to add this piece of the sewing puzzle to Winnipeg Sews!
