January Member Update

Now that 2024 has poked its little face out to see a tiny bit more of the sun, here’s some updates for this year!

Members will be getting a better experience as I focus more on making this community stronger and more connected. Starting in January I’m adding 30 minute zoom meetings every month on Friday afternoon so you can pop in and ask any questions you’ve been having. I know not everyone can always make the community sews and it’ll be nice to have another opportunity to connect with you throughout the month. Since we’re still a small group, it might take a minute for this to gel. Feel free to bring any questions as this will be a resource for you to tap in to for sewing questions. I won’t have a format for these, you’ll be welcome to drop in and join the discussion as it’s happening.

Zoom meeting links will be sent out to members on the Thursday before the meeting. Our first monthly meeting is on January 12 from 3:30-4pm. As our group grows this year, I’ll be looking at making them weekly!

I’m looking at making Frocktails a thing again this year in October, but I’m definitely not doing it by myself again! Lesson learned. I’m looking for some volunteers who would like to help me prepare the event. Our first meeting will be in February and we’ll discuss theme/budget and venue. Please let me know if you’re interested!

Upcoming Community Classes

Community Camp is coming up on January 13/14. It’s a full weekend of sewing time during the daylight! The studio is yours to use from 10-3 both days and I’ll be providing snacks and lunches both days. These weekends are like a sewing retreat lite and the price reflects that! You can expect some companionship and full use of everything in the studio. Bring your own projects to work on and get a head start on your sewing for 2024! Currently there’s only one person registered, with a maximum of four, so it’ll be a great way to get to know other sewists. I may need to cancel so please don’t delay if you’re thinking of coming! Remember you get 10% off all Community classes with your membership, so you can use code WSMEMBER10 to save on the weekend.

Community Care Sip & Sew is on January 20th. We’ll be making mittens again like last year and I’ll have a neckwarmer pattern as well. It’s a two hour spot for us to make as many cold weather supplies as we can! Bring your own machine or stop in and use one of ours. All the materials and pattern will be supplied, I just need you to help make a bigger impact! Same as Community Camp, use your code for 10% off.

Monthly Sew is on January 13 and of course you get a free pass like always! Use your code WSFREESEW to register for free.

Your monthly discount is 10% off wool coatings in the shop! You’ll have to shop in store or have me send you some photos and an invoice. No code needed for you, I’ll update your total when you checkout!

Save 10% on our gorgeous vintage heavyweight woolens! Every piece is unique!

Thank you all so much for your support, I am really pumped for 2024!
